Ronald C. White, Jr. earned his Ph.D. at Princeton University and has taught at UCLA, Princeton Theological Seminary, Whitworth University, and Colorado College.
He is a Fellow at the Huntington Library, Visiting Professor of History at UCLA, and Professor of American Religious History Emeritus at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
White is the author and editor of eight books, including A. Lincoln: A Biography, which will be the Main Selection of the History Book Club for January 2009. He has also written Lincoln's Greatest Speech, which was a Washington Post bestseller, a San Francisco Chronicle bestseller, and a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and The Eloquent President which was a Los Angeles Times bestseller and a selection of the Book-of-the-Month Club and the History Book Club.
White has lectured on Abraham Lincoln at the White House, the Library of Congress, and at Gettysburg and was interviewed on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. He lives with his wife, Cynthia, in La Cañada, California.
